Unless this plaque was placed before 1989, the text is still under copyright. 1989 is very unlikely because the plaque looks newish and unfaded. I have no way to verify when the plaque was placed and was unsure of copyright because none was obvious on the plaque. I agree that it should probably be deleted. Robert L Young (talk) 14:57, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The US rules are complicated, but the one causing the question here is that anything before 1989 had to have a copyright notice or be registered (that's not completely right, but will do for here). Anything after March 1, 1989 is under copyright without notice or registration. See File:PD-US table.svg for a summary of US law. .     Jim . . . .
