No evidence of the licence claimed, sourcing insufficient. Unless evidence of PD status can be found, this can't be hosted on Commons PlanespotterA320 (talk) 14:52, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- i don't see any reason for this nomination. The subject of the image passed away in 1909. This image is from 1890-1900. I added a link to the same image in the SAME folder which bears the PD-old license template. Why waste contributors time on such thing? Regards --kippi70 (talk) 19:00, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- Just because the person in the photo died in 1909 doesn't mean it is PD (not all countries have expiration based on creation date). Copyright law varies by country, and if this item wasn't published early enough in the country of origin, it's not PD. And right now the sourcing information here is absolute crap (dead link to another Wikipedia with no useful information). Do whe know WHEN and WHERE this photo was published? Where was it created? Was it published in the US before 1925? Russia before 1917? Does anyone know who the author is? If so, when did they die? Come on, find SOMETHING. There is no dispute that the amount of information (or rather, lack thereof) in the infobox is absolutely unacceptable for Commons standards. Doesn't matter how old it is. Whoever uploaded it to Yiddish Wikipedia is obviously not the copyright holder and had no right to release it under a CC licence. Now, let's figure out the file information, find out the country of origin, find the earliest publication of it we can, and apply a proper country-specific PD tag to this IF applicable, or fasttrack the deletion process if we find out it's still copyrighted. But we cannot allow blatantly false CC claims on Commons.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 22:00, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi again. This image appeared on the first page in a book of his poems published by his Brother in IL bin 1950, so for me it is clearly a PD-Israel in the worst case. I added a link to the same image in Commons with a higher res. According to the info regarding the other image, it was taken between 1890 and 1900, which seems to be reasonable. I do not know who took this photograph or where it was firstly published. I assume it was taken in the US. I need to tag an IL admin from Commons who might know some more. Regards --kippi70 (talk) 16:54, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- What is the ISBN or OCLC number of the book? Please indicate the exact book (include title, publisher, year of publication, location of publication, and other key info) in the source section of this file.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 17:33, 8 September 2020 (UTC)
- i'm back with some more Infos. I added information in the file template regarding the Israeli book published there in 1950. However, the image appeared already in a book from 1920 published in the US: By-paths in Hebraic Bookland by Israel Abrahams, The Jewish Publication Society of America, Philadelphia, 1920; link to this book (image on p. 360): https://library.osu.edu/projects/hebrew-lexicon/01696-files/01696001.pdf. Hope this is enough info. Regards --kippi70 (talk) 08:41, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

- I wasn't able to get verification for the 1950 Israeli book but the 1920 American book is sufficient.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 14:08, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
I withdraw my nomination
