Out of project scope. Representing a real, living person in a comic, and being used in lieu of an actual image of the subject. Complex/Rational 16:50, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I’m part of a project called Les sans images, we draw portraits for people who don’t have a picture on their article. We all represent a living person as an illustration, and it’s the first time I read that this shouldn’t be done. EthicalComics (talk) 17:01, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hundreds of such pictures are already part of Commons. This is not an extract from a comic, it is an original drawing made for this purpose and share by the author. --MHM (talk) 18:32, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Aucun interet enccyclopédique, dénature completement les articles de manière totalement arbitraire. --KAPour les intimes 20:15, 8 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep It is clearly in project scope, it is a "realistically useful for an educational purpose" as it can illustrate a wikipedia article in 4 different languages. It might not be your taste, but it's just an editorial issue, editorial issue that we don't solve on Wikimedia Commons but rather on the projects using the image, Projects that can have their own editorial rules. Right now, this file could be elligible as COM:VI in scope Category:Heather Jackson. --PierreSelim (talk) 11:40, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep agree with PierreSelim it's it is a "realistically useful for an educational purpose" Hyruspex (talk) 12:56, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep Free image used to illustrate a biography on Wikipedia, you cannot get very much more in scope than that. If you do not like the image (which is absolutely an "actual image", whatever than may mean...), make a better one, like everywhere else. Rama (talk) 15:30, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep I agree with PierreSelim and Rama, it's totally in project scope. Chragon (talk) 15:37, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep The technique and the medium used do not have to be taken into account. Commons includes portraits done in a variety of styles (watercolor, drawing, digital drawing, oil painting). This portrait clearly includes the characteristic elements of the subject that make it perfectly recognizable. It is very successful. Alacoolwiki (talk) 16:05, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep There are hundreds of thousands of such illustrated portraits already. Will they also be deleted because they don’t accurately depict someone in a realistic way? The fact is that there are so many articles that need a free of use picture and I provide them. EthicalComics (talk) 16:06, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: no valid reason for deletion. --Kadı Message 15:19, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
