No FOP in France Caehlla2357 (talk) 11:31, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed - I understand why this picture that I uploaded has to be deleted. As I said on my talk page, I'm not uploading photos to Wikimedia Commons except of the UK, since FOP seems to be very complicated elsewhere! LeicesterChris (talk) 12:48, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I did look at your talk page. Yeah, FOP tends to be complicated. France only has individual, non-commercial FOP, unfortunately. Caehlla2357 (talk) 14:57, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@LeicesterChris: the global statuses of freedom of panorama provisions can be found at File:Freedom of Panorama world map.svg. Also, for compliance with COM:Licensing, only images of French buildings and public art by authors who are already dead for more than 70 years are OK at Commons, such as the Eiffel Tower, Basilique du Sacré-Cœur, Church of Les Invalides, Arc de Triomphe, and the Panthéon. You may want to browse through English Wikipedia entries of French buildings and monuments to determine who were their artists or architects and what year did they passed away.
