1. ahistorical: Same situation as Commons:Deletion requests/File:Flag of Seljuq Empire.svg, Commons:Deletion requests/File:Flag of Ghaznavid Empire.svg.

2. copyright abuse: According to the Act 27 of the Turkish copyright law ([1]), their copyrights have not expired. Because they were created in 1969.

Art. 27. The term of protection shall last for the lifetime of the author and for 70 years after his death. If there is more than one author, this period shall end upon the expiry of 70 years after the death of the last remaining author. The term of protection for works that have been first made public after the death of the author shall be 70 years after the date of death. The term of protection in the cases determined in the first paragraph of Article 12 shall be 70 years from the date on which the work was made public, unless the author reveals his name before expiry of such term. If the first author is a legal person, the term of protection shall be 70 years from the date on which the work was made public.'

Kept: - inconsistents claims by nominator, how can there be a copyright by a government if the flag is fiction? Nominator didn't show that this exact version comes from the government. The 'ahistorical' argument is completely irrelevant, for all files are in use - Jcb (talk) 12:04, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

TRT forged these flags as "historical" flags in 1969 for a their calendar. Flags are fictional and copyrights belong to TRT. So my arguments are not inconsistent. Takabeg (talk) 14:37, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some of the files were deleted by me for other reasons other than this DR, such as being taken from websites without permission. User:Zscout370 (Return fire) 14:42, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As long as I understand, fotw is not reliable source. Fotw is not original copyright holder. These flags (except that of the Ottoman Empire) had never been seen, never been mentioned before 1969. These flags were used for calender of TRT, prepaid calling card of Türk Telekom etc. Takabeg (talk) 14:51, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@ Jcb: You had made wrong decision before. We'd better leave judgment whether copyright are violated or not to other experienced users and administrators. Thank you. Takabeg (talk) 15:05, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, let me cite you from that other DR: "Now unfortunately one flag is used in this article" - this is alarming, it shows you lack any understanding of the function of Wikimedia Commons within the total of Wikimedia projects. You should inform yourself thoroughly before you do any new DR related action. Jcb (talk) 15:24, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
