Possible copyvio - Can't find a PD indication on source site - Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:40, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Keep The link is just a reference. This sketch is uploader's own work. But why did you transfer this image to commons if you want to delete it?? /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 14:14, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Check the dates, Also I was checking my old transfers... based on what you say above though...
- Keep Speedy = Nom withdrawn based on above comments.
One another note, Anyone here able to act as guide as it seems obvious I don't fully understand Commons policy yet? Sfan00 IMG (talk) 18:25, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
- Have you been able to use the provided link ( http://www.probes.com/handbook/boxes/0432.html ) ? When I click on it, I am redirected to http://www.invitrogen.com/site/us/en/home/brands/Molecular-Probes.html so that I am unable to check the picture and the licensing information on the source website. - The reference for the drawing by Cathleenzhao is this image on this page. There is no problem whatsoever. It is her work. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 09:18, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the archive.org links. The page there is marked "Copyright © 1996-2004 by Molecular Probes, Inc." The Wikipedia user's name does not seem to be written anywhere on that page (Ctrl+F "Zhao" with Firefox provides no result). Is she the owner of that company ? Is she an employee of that company ? Modification or use of the text and/or images in any other format/media, however, including use on another Web site or in a publication, is prohibited without the permission of MPI. - It does not matter, there is no copyright on ideas. File:Fret.jpg is a drawing by Cathleenzhao. She gives a reference, in the same way any wikipedia writer should do, to show that the drawing represents good science. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 13:58, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Redundant, Superseded by File:Fret.svg Methecooldude (talk) 00:20, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
- Keep - the svg file refers to this file (and it does not even refer to the literature); also, very inefficient svg coding. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 00:43, 24 December 2011 (UTC)
Kept. Per Pieter Kuiper second argument. --Dereckson (talk) 19:12, 9 July 2012 (UTC)
