  • this must stop now, france coins are copyright-free as all the images from this website — Preceding unsigned comment added by ORIGINAL21 (talk • contribs) 2012-02-29T11:55:25‎ (UTC)
  • Pictures of French coins are only free if the photographer is identified and has licensed the photo under a free licence. Besides, this doesn't even look like a coin, as mentioned on English Wikipedia. I can't find any statement saying that pictures on the mentioned web site are necessarily free. --Stefan4 (talk) 11:59, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete I've previously warned this editor twice here and here about uploading copyright violations. The uploader is factually wrong about the copyright of these images. Simply because a blogger thinks these coins are copyright free doesn't make them so. As we know from Commons:Currency plenty of countries retain rights on their currency. A blogger can't invalidate that. In this specific case, while we have direction about francs, we do not have direction about euro coins. Given the lack of proof these are free, we have to presume non-free until confirmation is made. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:38, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I didn't realise that the statement at COM:Currency only was about FRF. Good to know. I thought it only was unfree because it doesn't look like a real coin and because there is no proof that the photographer has licensed the photo of it. --Stefan4 (talk) 19:31, 1 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: The image has no license. The coin is probably not free, so this has two strikes against it.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 15:34, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
