The letter "F" is drawn in three dimensions. Looks copyrightable in the UK and the US. I don't know why it was uploaded to Commons. Uploader can explain this. George Ho (talk) 04:43, 4 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. As the F consists only of 3 cuboids, it is still simple in my opinion. Taivo (talk) 21:46, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The Edge logo is copyrightable in the UK, Taivo. In other words, the UK courts set the originality standards very low to the level of mere anything that is original enough. The 3D "F" is copyrightable there, so it does not belong in Commons. --George Ho (talk) 22:09, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

EDGE logo is really more complex than this F. Taivo (talk) 22:11, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Wait, Taivo... the copyright might belong to an American record label, Atlantic Records. The album has a copyright notice on the back cover... Wait, so does the UK single and the US one. If the 3D "F" is not enough to you, what the typeface of "Foreigner"? It looks copyrightable, right? --George Ho (talk) 22:19, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: The nom is half right. Type faces, including the 3D "F" cannot have a copyright in the USA. But, typography has a special 25 year copyright in the UK, so this 1984 work was certainly copyrighted there until 2009. It also probably is above the ToO in the UK, so it will be under copyright until at least 1/1/2055 and probably much longer. .     Jim . . . .
