The text on this plaque is more than simple text -- with there being complete sentences, and is hence copyrightable. No evidence can be found that this is PD. russavia (talk) 16:58, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
- It was my impression that Category:Plaques in the United States are usually non-copyrightable. Some combination of freedom of panorama (this is not a work of art, it is utility sign) and federal sponsored public domain (this image was cosponsored by a public library, suggesting federal money was used), and such, may be applicable. I would like to see a proper explanation on which plaques in US are public domain and which are not before this is deleted. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 13:19, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
Deleted: Most plaques in the USA have a copyright. Exceptions are ones where the copyright has expired, ones placed by the federal government, and ones that are too simple -- only a few words. This doesn't meet any of those exceptions and, by the way libraries do not, in general, get money from the Feds -- only from some states. . Jim . . . .
