This flag never existed, and it being used in a semi-official manner , that's not appropriate. Fry1989 (talk) 19:59, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have checked the Stub it's in on Wikipedia-EN, it was just added earlier today, without any discussion anywhere regarding it. I have since undone that insert, as this is completely inappropriate. It should be deleted. Fry1989 (talk) 22:04, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What makes it inappropriate? It's the Canadian flag with two colors instead of one. The first one proposed in 1966 had two blue bars representing the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.--Harfang (talk) 20:23, 28 March ::2011 (UTC)
I do like what you did with the history stub, but it doesn't explain why having this two coloured flag on file is wrong!--Harfang (talk) 20:27, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This is the flag proposed in 1964, and it's quite different from this file. It was never adopted, or even used unofficially. It's not appropriate for those reasons. Fry1989 (talk) 01:09, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Question Are we quite sure this was not one of the choices in the design process? -- Given that it is halfway between the Pearson flag and the final choice, that seems at least possible. If that is true, then we should keep it to illustrate the process.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 15:55, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The file was previously nominated for deletion since the flag is fictional but it was kept due to being in use on Wikipedia at the time. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore though. So the image should be deleted as OOS unless someone can provide evidence to the contrary. Adamant1 (talk) 01:09, 10 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: no valid reason for deletion - as noted above, not fictional, but a candidate in the process and ended up with this flag without the blue. .     Jim . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 16:40, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
