No reliable online source confirms that the city of Pensacola has any such flag, which is possibly a hoax. The city's own official website (www.cityofpensacola.com) makes no mention of a city flag. See the discussion at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Flag_of_Pensacola,_Florida, which ended with the wikiarticle being deleted on 31 January 2014. The uploader of this flag to Commons has had many other uploaded images deleted as well, including a PNG version of the supposed "flag of Pensacola", which the uploader provides no source for: see https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Stepo114. I request that this image and any other unsourced, unverified "flag of Pensacola" images like it be permanently deleted. Textorus (talk) 09:39, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: We have File:Flag of Pensacola.svg which is the same flag as this which is widely in use, including at Pensacola, Florida. It has been in use on that article for more than two years, so our nom has not done very much research here. We do not generally delete existing raster versions of files after the svg is created and the nom gives no valid reason to delete this. .     Jim . . . . I am the original creator of this image. It seems that people think this is the actual flag of Pensacola, which it is not. I made this image to illustrate Pensacola rather than be the flag of Pensacola, therefore I want to nominate it for deletion. Stepo114 (talk) 00:05, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Delete That appears to be correct. Pensacola is known as The City of Five Flags, see http://www.pensapedia.com/wiki/City_of_Five_Flags, and apparently flies all five where most cities would have one.

It follows that File:Flag of Pensacola.svg should be deleted also. I have tagged that file and notified the creator. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 10:41, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jameslwoodward: I can't see a tag in File:Flag of Pensacola.svg, nor a note on the talk page of the creator. Did you mean another file by any chance? Well, while you're pinged anyway, could you please close this DR as well? Clin --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 02:57, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted My comment with respect to the SVG version appears to be incorrect. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 09:19, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
