[edit]Today, I received notice to come here for discussion of the proposed deletion of this image, but find no discussion. The tag seems to be dated almost a month ago, however, until I accessed Wikipedia Commons, no notice to me was visible when I logged onto Wickipedia. That ought to be corrected if relevant discussion is to be timely in issues.
Please advise whether this image is an issue only in Wikipedia Commons, it is my understanding that the photograph was published in 1910, doesn't that make it a public domain image in the United States? Policies I have seen note that any photograph published prior to 1923 is supposed to be in the American public domain in the English language Wikipedia. ----83d40m (talk) 15:23, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
- It is public domain in the US. Wikimedia Commons demands that it be out of copyright in its country of origin as well, which in this case is France, where it will be in copyright until 2028.--Prosfilaes (talk) 15:36, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, and part of the deletion request process is tagging your talk page with a notice. If you don't check frequently, go to My Preferences, add your email account, and check "E-mail me when my user talk page is changed", so you'll get email when someone changes your talk page.--Prosfilaes (talk) 16:18, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
