This file was initially tagged by Ymnes as Speedy (Speedy delete) and the most recent rationale was: Copyright violation, see talks here: Commons:Village pump/Copyright#Everipedia using multimedia content from this project and Commons:Village pump/Copyright#CC license, but which one? The above rationale for deletion is not adequate enough for speedy deletion, but it's good for deletion request. If the use of the logo violates trademark laws, or if it falls out of the COM:SCOPE, or if the image is original enough for copyright, then delete the logo. Otherwise, no need to delete this. Indeed, this is a US work, not a work from an overseas country. George Ho (talk) 22:20, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Keep This logo is below TOO in the United States, and Commons does not concern itself with possible trademark restrictions — these are to be observed by the re-users of otherwise free content. There is nothing copyrightable here, so {{PD-textlogo}} and {{Trademarked}} should apply. De728631 (talk) 22:36, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Keep PD-text is PD-text, and I agree this most likely falls well below the American TOO, the only applicable jurisdiction. Even if we deem the site likely to ‘play fast and loose’ with copyrights (supposing the designer may have only licensed it to them, or requested attribution), where no copyright exists there is nothing to abuse, at least so far as legalities are concerned. (The source link could be improved, unless the uploader vectorized the graphic, in which case that detail should be noted: all I can find on that page are raster images, and they don’t seem to have accessible File pages. But under the circumstances that’s no big deal.) As for the trademark, it’s properly tagged, and our practice is to put the burden on re-users to respect non-copyright restrictions on use, be they trademarks, personality rights, official & heraldic devices, potentially offensive symbols, or whatever.—Odysseus1479 (talk) 22:51, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Inkscape and potrace are telling me that's exactly what the uploader did.. - Alexis Jazz 23:36, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Keep What I said in the discussion linked was that Creative Commons does not apply to this logo according to their ToS. Here it's PD-textlogo. If someone in the UK (low TOO) wanted to use it, they could technically run into copyright restrictions. Just because this is PD-textlogo in the US does not automatically export to other countries. (like the UK) But correct me if I'm wrong. Either way, I never asked Ymnes to nominate this logo for deletion. - Alexis Jazz 23:36, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Keep: Everpedia is a U.S. corporation, and there is no indication that there is any other author for copyright purposes. U.S. logo first published in the U.S., so U.S. threshold of originality applies, and therefore {{PD-textlogo}}. --Closeapple (talk) 06:23, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Keep This image of simple geometry is ineligible for copyright and therefore in the public domain, because it consists entirely of information that is common property and contains no original authorship.--EEIM (talk) 18:41, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ymnes, your thoughts on this? I'm close to withdrawing this nomination. George Ho (talk) 21:52, 17 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
