wrong date, probably wrong author and source Xocolatl (talk) 20:21, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Keep date and attribution fixed. --RAN (talk) 04:39, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete The "fix" by RAN above was to declare it an anonymous work, date it to around the 1920s, state that it was a scan from an unidentified work and insert the {{PD-EU-no author disclosure}} template. The date appears to be pure guesswork; are we looking at a man around the age of 60, 70 or 90? He is definitely old, but for someone who lived to 98, I am not sure how we can judge how quickly or slowly he appeared to age without reference to other images of him. The grain of the photograph suggests that it may be from a printed work like a newspaper; a declaration of {{Scan}} is not sufficient. If this has been published, there will be a record of whether it was attributed to a photographer at the time. We can't guess and say that it was anonymous solely to get around an unknown source. Also, there appears to be some writing in the top right corner. Could that be a signature mark by the photographer? If so, we can't declare it to be anonymous; at most we could say the author is unidentified. From Hill To Shore (talk) 14:44, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
