Weird mix of opaque and transparent backgrounds, and some bonds do not seem to converge properly. Replaceable by File:Ethyl cinnamate.png DMacks (talk) 08:07, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Delete Low quality chemical structure; inconsistent style of drawing. Replacement is good and of high quality. I support the deletion! Chem Sim 2001 (talk) 11:05, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep No reason to delete. Given arguments are actually weird. There is not a mix of backgrounds and you can not compare quality an svg drawing with a png one. An svg drawing always has higher quality. One needs to consider the zoom level. If comments on the drawing ... the svg should be improved and the linked png alternative deleted. Obviously you are welcome to improve the drawing to solve the deficiencies if you are able, and I would withdraw my nom if you do (or someone else does). The following demonstrates the background problem:
File:Ethyl cinnamate.svg
the "O" letters have opaque-white whereas the rest is transparent. And the carbonyl-"O" renders off-center depending on browser and size. The png also has a more-standard way of drawing the second vs first bond of the alkene (it is more widely usable because it matches almost all other standard-following images), but that's a stylistic point that merely speaks against deleting there (or also speaks to that image actually being better in yet another way). If you wish to take the position that "svg as a format" trumps all other arguments, you'll need policy/guideline support. And also, I just found File:Ethyl-cinnamate.svg (had been miscategorized) as an svg alt with better backgrounding. DMacks (talk) 01:22, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per discussion. File:Ethyl-cinnamate.svg is an equivalent file that does not have the quality issues discussed. Ed (Edgar181) 20:34, 6 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
