The mural was made for the US government-owned Smithsonian Museum. So he was employed by the US government when he made it. FunkMonk (talk) 11:32, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination, also notice that while this work was 'on display' at the Smithsonian Institution, the piece is not owned by nor was commissioned by the U.S. Governement, thus per Jameslwoodward we would need COM:OTRS from the still-living artist to release the copyright on images which were published in a Time-Life Book. --Ellin Beltz (talk) 15:16, 14 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
