On the copy on en.wiki, the uploader states that the photo was taken by a member of the US military in 1945, and that he took it from the family archives. The uploader is unlikely to be the copyright holder of this image, or in a position to release it under license. Diannaa (talk) 02:49, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- There is now a long comment on the talk page. Unfortunately, that comment doesn't help us explaining the copyright status of the photo. If it was taken by a member of the US military, then it might be {{PD-USGov-Mil}}, but we don't know whether the photo was taken while the soldier was working or not, and there is no evidence that the photo was taken by a member of the military either. --Stefan4 (talk) 08:01, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Deleted: Even if taken by a soldier, it seems unlikely to have been as part of his duties, therefore the copyright almost certainly belongs to the photographer or his heirs. It was first published in 1995, so it will be under copyright until 2065 -- 120 years after creation is the rule for unknown creators. . Jim . . . .
