This image is NOT any part of the Government Open Licence, and never has been, the copyright holder is myself H Szymanski, and always has been please confirm by opending gov uk website Lee Rigby as shown in the link below Szymanski (talk) 22:10, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Delete the image on the MoD website has the attribution "Drummer Lee Rigby [Picture: H Szymanski]" which clearly suggests that it is not released under the generic Government Open Licence. That licence applies, according to the website, 'except where otherwise stated'. Note also that there a linked cropped image. --MichaelMaggs (talk) 13:48, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: The nom's account was created solely for the pupose of this DR. We do not take images down based on anonymous claims. This needs to be dealt with at OTRS or with a DMCA takedown notice. .     Jim . . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 16:31, 15 January 2015 (UTC) .     Jim . . . . This file was initially tagged by Ianmacm as Speedy (Speedydelete) and the most recent rationale was: copyright violation, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Murder_of_Lee_Rigby#Photograph_of_Fusilier_Lee_Rigby Taivo (talk) 19:56, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  •  Keep Based on this MoD page archive. The MoD site states "All content is available under the Open Government Licence, except where otherwise stated", and as can be seen on the page where two versions of the photo are used, there is no statement that leads us to presume that OGL does not apply. I recognize that the MoD have since changed the page, but if the MoD or the photographer wish to have this photograph deleted, they should put the case by email or issue a valid take-down on the basis that the MoD made a mistake in publishing the image. At the current time there has only ever been an unverified statement asking for deletion. -- (talk) 20:21, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment Looks like the MOD has taken down the image pending a resolution of a copyright claim by a photographer.[1] (archived link) Lupo 16:59, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep and wait for take-down notice or whatever the MoD and photographer agree upon. Right now it is unclear if the MoD made a bubu. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 03:32, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment As stated above, the photographer and the MoD are in a dispute over this. Mail news article The image was uploaded to Commons in good faith by someone who assumed it was OGL, and all of the worldwide media outlets that have used the image have assumed this as well. I nominated the image for speedy deletion as it could easily be uploaded again after the dispute is resolved. There is no reason to believe that the MoD messages or the Mail article are wrong, but for the purists the request should come from the photographer directly.--Ianmacm (talk) 10:39, 5 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: Waiting for take-down-notice. Until then kept. Period. --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 03:32, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Converted speedy deletion request to a regular one. This file has been discussed multiple times before. Sebari (talk) 21:37, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The copyvio tag description was "web pgae says © H Szymanski. All Rights Reserved. Oficial confimation by MOD at OTRS 2016072910014915". See also Commons:Deletion requests/File:Drummer Lee Rigby - Cropped.jpg. --Sebari (talk) 21:39, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I have merged the two DRs. -mattbuck (Talk) 21:41, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Delete. I actioned the OTRS ticket. There is no doubt from that e-mail, that the MOD has declared that the images are not OGL. The e-mail address is good - it is genuine e-mail from the MOD. Ronhjones  (Talk) 15:44, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: Per OTRS, this is not OG-licensed, no evidence of being free otherwise. -mattbuck (Talk) 17:00, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
