Factually inaccurate, carbenium descriped as carbonium, as stated in the source. See also w:de:Diskussion:Dimethylnitrosamin. Something similar happened with File:Staurosporine ruthenium complex.svg. I decided not to nominate for deletion and instead explain the error in the description, so it is less likely to be repeated. One could argue if explaining the error or deletion is the better alternative. Nothingserious (talk) 06:38, 15 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep and fix. "Carbonium" is often and traditionally used for the CH3+ ion (see Gold Book entry). If there is a better word to use, you could just treat it as a mistake in the image and fix it. That is, the image is what is educationally useful, and need not be a literal copy of the source. Or you could omit the label-text altogether? "Do not include English text in images: this prevents their reuse in other languages" is a formal recommendation of the en.wp CHEM MOS, but I don't know enough German to see if de.wp has that. Likewise, you can use multiple sources in an article to support the whole pathway and then use a better or more modern word than the source uses to describe one of the details.
