modern architecture in Iceland, no Commons-compatible FOP in Iceland. Building looks too new for the possibility of the architect having died before 1950 Gestumblindi (talk) 17:08, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Architect is Benjamín Magnússon and certainly did not die in 1950. This photo shall not be deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 46.239.214.126 (talk) 17:15, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Info: The church was built in 1993/1994 per is:Digraneskirkja. --Achim (talk) 18:21, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@IP, to explain: This is about the lack of full "freedom of panorama" (FoP) in Iceland for modern architecture where the architect is still living or died less than 70 years ago. Such buildings are copyrighted, and Icelandic FoP doesn't allow for commercial use of images, which is a requirement for Commons. Therefore, photos of modern architecture and public art in Iceland can only be kept on Commons with an explicit release under a free license by the copyright owner of the work (building) depicted.
