Dubious claim of own work on this 1973 photo. Ellin Beltz (talk) 20:07, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I was born in 1958. This photo of me was taken with my camera when I was 15 years old. I gave my camera to my friend and asked him to take this picture of me and our dogs, our German Shorthaired Pointer and her puppies. You find my fathers name in this list [1] on page 11. There is nothing "dubious" in it. There is no difference if I upload a selfie or a photo of me someone took with my camera or a photo that was taken by my camera using a self-timer. It doesn't even make a difference, whom the camera belogend to, if a friend took the photo at my request and gave it to me. The automatical conclusion, that another person would be the rightholder is wrong. There is a difference, if the photo was taken by a professional photographer or if it is a private photo taken by a friend, wife or husband, daughter, son, at request. There is no rule that a person can only use selfies. This would be ridiculous, if everyone who puts a photo of himself in his passport or on facebook or in Wikipedia would have to apply for an image licence.
