it's not clear that this colorized version of the photo is in the public domain -- when was the colorized version created? the flickr source link is now dead.... Calliopejen1 (talk) 20:08, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • I found an article in the Chilean newspaper El Mercurio ("Restauración: Museo del Ejército", 9 March 2003, via subscription), which mentions the Chilean Museum of the Army having this among several other photographs colorised by Courret's studio, in the period after the war, while the black-and-white original remains in Lima with many of Courret's originals (explaining the poor quality of our black-and-white photo, scanned in Lima).
