No FoP in the UAE. 84.61.172.89 18:56, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
- Keep as uploader - This image is different from all the others because it was captured in a public place, though due to the lack of FoP in the UAE this is not, on its own, grounds for keeping. So, Commons:De minimis comes in, and the arguments I made at Commons:Deletion requests/File:Burj Al Arab from Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort and Spa in Dubai 2.jpg apply here too, including on the image categorisation and naming. This image is blatantly one of a beach, which is not copyrightable, and not of a building. The Burj Al Arab could be removed and the image would be just as useful. - Comment - I'm considering re-naming most of my uploads on the Dubai Marina to more accurate names, per COM:RENAME, to make the intention of the images more clear, even if I am sceptical of the relationship between copyright issues and file names. In any case, I would rather wait until any deletion issues are settled before I go ahead. CT Cooper · talk 21:33, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Comment This is not an easy decision -- I think I come down with a weak keep on the grounds that the boat and other foreground are much more important than Burj Al Arab. It's just a weak keep because part of the appeal of it for me is the shape of the boat vs the shape of the building, which means the building is, perhaps, more than de minimis. I'd like to see other opinions. Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 21:54, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Kept, building is de minimis. Kameraad Pjotr 21:06, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
