Copyrighted painting of artist who died in 1984 Elly (talk) 14:43, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It was a work by Krasner for the Works Progress Administration. See https://brooklynrail.org/2018/10/artseen/Lee-Krasner-Mural-Studies. So it is public domain. --Kaethe17 (talk) 13:42, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I just found the picture at the Jewish Women's Archive, where it is listed as public domain: https://jwa.org/media/lee-krasner-untitled-mural-study-2 It also says it was a work for WPA, an American New Deal agency. Which would make it public domain.--Kaethe17 (talk) 20:31, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: he photo is clearly intended to be a faithful 2 dimensional reproduction of a painting in the public domain as work created for the WPA, so ineligible for a separate copyright. --Raymond 12:50, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
