Vanity images of unclear copyright (uploader has uploaded several copyright violations) with no educational use; solely used by uploader to attempt to promote his services. —Ryūlóng (竜龙) 09:57, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- What is wrong with donating my art to the world for them to remix, redistribute and reuse my artwork? Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content, that is, images and other media files that are not subject to copyright restrictions which would prevent them being used by anyone, anytime, for any purpose. That is exactly what I am doing; I own all the copyrights to my photos. Why are you devaluing my contributions? What can I do to ensure they aren't deleted again? Change their licensing? If anything, you are hurting the very people who volunteer to contribute openly and freely to Wikimedia and Wikipedia. --Bryancalabro (talk) 14:41, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- These are all vanity photos which are far outside the scope of this project, which is a depository for photos that have educational uses. Your photos of pastries, your own personal company logo, and these photographs of models doing nothing particularly educational do not fit in with this website's scope.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 14:54, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- The photos of pastries are good, but the other photos have no particular value.--Auric (talk) 17:41, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not even sure what the pastries are supposed to be. "Ch'up Cake" and "Easter Oreos" seem to be made up trade names that won't have much coverage anywhere.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 17:12, 8 July 2013 (UTC)
- Keep all except File:Calabro Design.jpeg (purely promotional with no encyclopedic value) and File:Young Adult Women.jpeg (extremely limited value and I'm a little concerned that these are private individuals, who may or may not have consented to having their image here.) The quality of the remainder is very good and they do have clear illustrative and/or educational value, especially File:Art is Scripted.jpg (illustration of graffiti), File:An American Prom at its Finest.jpg (illustration of an American prom) and the various images of pastries, chocolate, etc. File:Striking a Dominant Pose.jpeg, possibly less so, but even that isn't completely out of scope. I don't doubt that the images were taken by the uploader. Is there any evidence that they are published elsewhere on his various websites under an incompatible license? - Update re copyright. I've checked some of these files against http://bryancalabro.com bryancalabro.com] which is quite clearly marked copyright.
- File:Art is Scripted.jpg appears here
- File:Striking a Dominant Pose.jpeg appears here
- File:Belgian Milk Chocolate Bark.jpg appears here
- These can't be kept Commons under those circumstances. Voceditenore (talk)
- Suggestion for the uploader. The encyclopedic value of these images would be increased by better documentation. What does the image depict? What is the context? Where was it taken? If it is an object, who made it, etc. Voceditenore (talk) 10:07, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
