Although the original oil painting is in the public domain. The derivative drawing might be eligible for copyright itself. So more information on the author of the drawing is probably needed. ALE! ¿…? 08:11, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- But there is no known copyright restrictions in the source.--P. Sridhar Babu (talk) 08:33, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- The source copyright doesnt matter. There is no known restrictions is wrong, of course there are restrictions: Those restrictions given by the copyright law. The source explains that this is a drawing based in the oil painting by Henri Motte. Writing only Henri Motte in the author field is wrong and saying {{PD-France}} based on the death date of Motte is also wrong because Motte is not the only author. Who created the drawing? Thats the question to answer. --Martin H. (talk) 08:50, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- Then I upload another version which is real.--P. Sridhar Babu (talk) 09:57, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- Thats ok. You can find more information and larger (maybe better) reproductions at askart.com or vincentlecuyer.com. Maybe you want to add an complete {{Artwork}} template. --Martin H. (talk) 18:47, 14 November 2011 (UTC)
- Keep - that "drawing" is most likely also out of copyright, from the time lithography was used to make mass reproductions of art. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 09:58, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
Kept: The original version is unquestionable in the PD, the derivative was deleted. But if the derivative is also out of copyright, it can be uploaded under a different filename. ALE! ¿…? 12:21, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
