On behalf of the Nationaal Archief I would like to ask to delete this file. Through internal research we found out the photographer of this photo is Yousuf Karsh. The work isn't out of copyright yet, since Karsh passed away in 2002. Please let me know if there are any further questions. Many thanks in advance! JerOpWiki (talk) 09:47, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
Keep as written it was due to Certain program which as this photo says it's public domain this license is revocable you can't return this license to author again after given this license 197.54.34.254 14:23, 5 November 2024 (UTC)
- That's only if it was the actual copyright holder who released the work under a free license, not if it was someone who is not authorized to (re-)license someone else's work. Since the National Archief is not the copyright holder, they don't have the right to (re-)license the work in any way and therefore the license under which they had uploaded the file would be invalid. - Delete It is correct that CC licenses are perpetual, however only the copyright holders can license their work. The copyright holder of this photo is the heirs of Yousuf Karsh and not the Dutch National Archive. I checked the source and they indeed updated the description to «Auteursrechthebbende © Karsh, Yousuf». Günther Frager (talk) 11:06, 20 November 2024 (UTC)
