COM:DUPE of File:Barcelona Cathedral (original).jpg but for the text watermark in the top right. Visible watermarks are discouraged, there are better ways to sign your work (a core one being to put the name you want to be credited under in the file summary: as this stands, somebody reusing the unmarked image is currently being asked to credit "TheMelidenStar16" rather than "D. George"). Lord Belbury (talk) 15:23, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I sign D.George because it is my birth name. I tried TheMelidenStar16 but it wouldn't let me do it. TheMelidenStar16 (talk) 18:53, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In addition I upload the unsigned one as well which can be found TheMelidenStar16 (talk) 18:56, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you go to File:Barcelona Cathedral (original).jpg (or any of your uploads) and click "Edit", you can change [[User:TheMelidenStar16|TheMelidenStar16]] to say [[User:TheMelidenStar16|D. George]]. That way if anybody clicks on your photo at Wikipedia, or wants to reprint your photo in a book or webpage or similar, the credit that will appear alongside it will be "D. George".
If you're happy to upload an unwatermarked one, then thank you, but Commons doesn't need to keep both the watermarked and unwatermarked versions. --Lord Belbury (talk) 19:04, 22 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry just seen your message, if I do that will it be taken off the deleted thing. Just over 2 years ago, I had the same thing and the photos were kept and I was told to upload both which I have done TheMelidenStar16 (talk) 11:39, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No, I just started the deletion request because these photos are identical apart from the watermark. Commons policy is to remove COM:DUPE images and question almost-duplicate like this one case-by-case: I see some of your other photos have altered contrast and saturation, but this one looks the same. Which version would you prefer to keep? --Lord Belbury (talk) 12:02, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The unsigned one if that is ok, been busy the past near week hence why I have just seen this TheMelidenStar16 (talk) 23:33, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination, discussion. --Rosenzweig τ 10:53, 18 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
