I believe it to be a copyright violation ColinFine (talk) 20:45, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Don Miller owns this photo and gave permission to use it. I took a photograph of the photograph, which is what was uploaded here. Mamaofonebear (talk) 16:14, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like a photo of a newspaper article? When/where was it published? If you have permission to license from the original copyright holder, submit as detailed at COM:VRT. Just be honest and accurate about who created what, dates, etc. Thanks. -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 04:52, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is an actual photograph. It has "This paper manufactured by Kodak" on the back. How can I send you a photo of the picture (front/back) in its entirety so you can see that it is not from an article? Mamaofonebear (talk) 14:01, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
A photo of a newspaper clipping? Thanks for that clarification. The issue however is derivative work copyright - see COM:DW. The copyright belongs to the original publication, not whoever took the photo of it (unless it was the same person). So, what publication is this from, and when? Many old newspapers are out of copyright... but we'd need information of what and when it is to determine. Thanks -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 14:35, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, it is not from a newspaper clipping or an article. It is a photograph from a Kodak camera. Mamaofonebear (talk) 14:55, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is there an email or something I can send the picture to so you can see that it is an actual photograph (glossy, semi-glossy) from a camera? Mamaofonebear (talk) 14:58, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Mamaofonebear: Yes, procedure explained at COM:VRT. However the issue remains - look at the photo, it is a photo of a newspaper or magazine article, and the copyright is by whoever wrote it. -- Infrogmation of New Orleans (talk) 15:14, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, you are right. I thought this was referencing another photo that I may have uploaded with a similar file name. I believe this article is from HUNTING & FISHING in CANADA. I understand if it must be deleted. The sole purpose was using it as a reference to show his significance and that he is the father of Don Miller, who the main article is about. I did not intend for it to be published, but rather used as reference. Mamaofonebear (talk) 16:41, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
