The amended law says this photograph is protected for 70 years. --49.150.116.127 09:22, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question If the author of this photograph were known, the decision would indeed depend upon whether the extension to 70 years made in 2021 is retroactive. @Tm: You say that it is non-retroactive. Commons:Copyright rules by territory/Uzbekistan, however, mentions the extension but not whether it is retroactive. Both is possible. There are countries that extended the duration of copyright retroactively, and other countries (such as Switzerland) that didn't. Are there any sources for the claim that the Uzbek law is non-retroactive? However, for anonymous or pseudonymous works, Uzbekistan apparently still has a 50 years from publication term of protection. This picture is from 1963 and the description says "Unknown author". 1963 + 50 = 2013, so, if the author is really unknown, this photograph seems to be in the public domain in Uzbekistan. Deleted: Per nomination. As the photographer is unknown it is not clear if the image is in public domain. It is also not known when the image was first published. Therefore the photo must be deleted. Per community decision of Commons:Village_pump/Copyright/Archive/2017/03#Cut-off_date_for_the_PD-old_template the photo can be undeleted safely 120 years after the image was made, which will be 1963+121=2084.. --Ellywa (talk) 08:02, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
