It appears that a version of this file is on whitehouse.gov (see [1]), but that file is quite different from this one. No reason to think the Columbia photo itself is CC-licensed or PD, especially since the White House licensing page states: "Visitors to this website agree to grant a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free license to the rest of the world for their submissions to Whitehouse.gov under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License" (emphasis added). The Creative Commons license also allows for adapting the file, which is clearly what they did, so I still believe the file is still CC 3.0. The Image Editor (talk) 03:25, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Also note that in the metadata of this file, there is a copyright notice "© Willis Bretz". Howhontanozaz (talk) 12:57, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Delete The CC license is on the WH website, not the Columbia website, so that only allows adaptations from the WH version, which is the smaller of the two files. ― Tartan357 Talk 20:53, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Delete Agreed with nomination, and the sleuthing of Howhontanozaz. This is a copyright violation, likely of Columbia University and Willis Bretz. Javert2113 (talk) 14:05, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Delete agree with the views above. This is likely not PD. TJMSmith (talk) 14:41, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
