It appears that a version of this file is on whitehouse.gov (see [1]), but that file is quite different from this one. No reason to think the Columbia photo itself is CC-licensed or PD, especially since the White House licensing page states: "Visitors to this website agree to grant a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free license to the rest of the world for their submissions to Whitehouse.gov under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License" (emphasis added). - The Creative Commons license also allows for adapting the file, which is clearly what they did, so I still believe the file is still CC 3.0. The Image Editor (talk) 03:25, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Comment Also note that in the metadata of this file, there is a copyright notice "© Willis Bretz". Howhontanozaz (talk) 12:57, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Delete The CC license is on the WH website, not the Columbia website, so that only allows adaptations from the WH version, which is the smaller of the two files. ― Tartan357 Talk 20:53, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Delete Agreed with nomination, and the sleuthing of Howhontanozaz. This is a copyright violation, likely of Columbia University and Willis Bretz. Javert2113 (talk) 14:05, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- Delete agree with the views above. This is likely not PD. TJMSmith (talk) 14:41, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
