The Mistress and Fellows of Girton College own copyright - it is not free to be shared or to remix. 131.111.216.60 09:04, 14 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • See above. They most certainly do not own the copyright to the coat of arms that I created. COM:COA applies. I created that file myself based on a blazon. That blazon is Quarterly vert and argent, a cross flory counterchanged between in the first and fourth quarters a roundel ermine and in the second and third quarters a crescent gules. I can legally create my own interpretation of what that coat of arms should look like and upload it to Commons. I did not steal any art from their site and post it - this is their version on the college website and FYI, I think mine is better and since I uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons, the university is free to use my version. Additionally, there are multiple copies of the arms already online in Category:Girton College, Cambridge so I don't know why you keep trying to delete only mine. Please familiarize yourself with how coats of arms are handled on Wikimedia Commons and stop creating frivolous deletion requests. — ʷiḳỉℳẚṅ₫¡₳ (talk) 04:23, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: no valid reason for deletion - The copyright for a CoA created from the blazon is owned by the creator, not the institution represented by the CoA. .     Jim . . . (Jameslwoodward) (talk to me) 12:27, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
