COM:DERIV, detail of stage background artwork from a storyteller's performance in a library. It's arguably de minimis in the original photo at File:Tere Marichal, storyteller from Puerto Rico, telling the afro-caribbean folktale of Anansi at Biblioteca Juvenil de Mayagüez during a Multicultural Children's Book Day activity.jpg, but cropping it to use as the main illustration across many Anansi articles seems an unreasonable derivative use of an artist's work. The original photo was published under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International which allows remixing / adaption. I attributed the original creator and reused the same license for this crop, thus fulfilling the requirements of the original license. ΟΥΤΙΣ (talk) 23:12, 19 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
After having de minimi's application here explained to me on the #wikimedia-commons IRC channel, I sent an email to the license holder of the original photo, asking them to allow the use of this crop on Commons. ΟΥΤΙΣ (talk) 16:34, 20 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: It's been a month and no word on COM:VRT. We can always undelete if COM:VRT is provided and approved. Thanks everyone for participating and if you disagree with this decision please take it to Commons:Undeletion requests - unless there is a tech issue. Thanks for assuming good faith and happy holidays!. --Missvain (talk) 23:27, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
