Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ana Ularu on HotNews Romania.jpg
This image portrays me, Ana Ularu. It was published without my consent, it is taken out of context from an interview and it is not only irrelevant to me as an actress but also causes embarrassment. I do not know why the person who published - user Leoboudv - it decided to do so and would really like him to stop intervening in my page. Thank you in anticipation. 26and26 (talk) 15:04, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
- Keep No, it was actually uploaded by me, Leoboudv just reviewed it to confirm that it was freely licensed. It was the best freely licensed image I could find. We'd love a better photograph, but it needs to be freely licensed, I wrote as much in more detail on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:26and26 minutes ago.
- And ... umm, no offense, but ... if you are Ana Ularu, then you really shouldn't be editing the page about you. It's not "your page", it's not your resume, or your Facebook, or your Linked-In, or your Instagram, there are plenty of pages on the Internet that can be yours. It's the page about you, and it's supposed to be unbiased. Readers won't be able to trust that it's telling them the truth if you wrote it. I hope you can understand why that is: would you trust that an article about a politician, or a company, or a business executive were telling you the entire unvarnished truth if they or someone working for them wrote it? Surely not. The same, I'm afraid, is true for actors, and pretty much everyone actually. The policy about that is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Autobiography.
- I'm going to copy this back to your EN talk page, because it's important, even more important than one image. If you can't license that image you tried to replace it with, now that I know you don't like this particular image from the HotNews Romania interview, I can try to grab a different one that you might like better, but I can't do anything about the Autobiography policy.
- Thank you for your contribution and your understanding. --GRuban (talk) 15:15, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
Kept: no valid reason for deletion. --Christian Ferrer (talk) 19:06, 21 March 2021 (UTC)
As can probably be seen in the earlier deletion request of 2020-09-06, Ana Ularu, the subject, doesn't like this picture. Now, however, she has released a noticeably better image (File:Ana Ularu.jpg), roughly a week ago. This one has been mostly replaced throughout, and she is asking for this one to be deleted "to be safe". Now, honestly, I still think this image isn't terrible, and "I don't like it" normally isn't a great reason for deletion, but there is also "Wikipedia isn't here to make people sad", as our founder once said. We have a noticeably better image now, enough so that I don't see anything this old image provides that the new one does not, so I think we can afford to lose this one. - Speedy keep The fact that this image is still in use means it cannot be given a courtesy deletion. -- Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:33, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
- Keep, better looks here.186.175.130.9 21:54, 23 February 2023 (UTC)
- Minutes after making this comment, this IP user commented in Commons:Deletion requests/File:Peru lama.pdf, asking "Es Vd llama?" - "Are you a llama?". I suspect the IP user is trolling us. --GRuban (talk) 14:13, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
- Keep I don't support wishes of people about their Wiki-Pages. It's not Facebook, the photo is not disgusting or anything like that. So there is NO reason, to delete or even remove it (from the de-wiki page). One can even argue that it is better suited for an encyclopedia than the new picture, where her face is not as good to be seen and she is harder to recognize, than in this one. We may not be here "to make people mad" but we're also not here to support poeples quirks about nothing. --Mirer (talk) 16:02, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
