In a (now hidden) legal threat on eswiki[1], the person portrayed in this images no longer wants his name and likeness to be used in the Wikimedia projects. MexTDT (talk) 23:31, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@MexTDT I thought we don’t do legal threats, nor do we hide the names and likenesses of notable people. We do things like COM:INUSE: this file is used at de:Amir Valle, en:Amir Valle, fr:Amir Valle, it:Amir Valle and wikidata:Q472122, so it would appear to be in scope and therefore not eligible for deletion. Brianjd (talk) 06:11, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Brianjd: I understand that, but since it was the person himself who uploaded it and allowed its use and now doesn’t want to be used, then it may fall under copyvio, also under COIN as it is a self-portrait. MexTDT (talk) 08:27, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I thought this was a personality rights or scope issue, but now you are saying it is a copyright issue? What is it? And I don’t think you mean COIN in the same sense as COM:COIN, so what do you mean? Brianjd (talk) 08:31, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Brianjd I meant Conflict of interest, that’s how it’s called on enwiki, I thought it was the here. MexTDT (talk) 09:55, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MexTDT That would be en:WP:COIN. I don’t think COI is a thing on Commons; Commons is one of the few projects that does not require disclosure of paid editing. But when the uploader and subject are the same person, there is usually a copyright issue (copyright usually belongs to the photographer, not the subject). And this file is low resolution (600 × 579) and lacks EXIF data, so we are probably headed for a deletion on copyright grounds. Brianjd (talk) 10:00, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously we don't care if this guy wants his picture in Wikimedia projects or not. But isn't it a selfie? Honestly it looks like selfie to me, and in this case we can keep it. Andrei Romanenko (talk) 23:24, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: no valid reason for deletion; CC declarations are irrevocable. We can look into deleting this if we get a replacement image. holly {chat} 20:45, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
