This is NOT an Alvar Aalto chair but an "Imola" chair by BoConcept. The location is unlikely to be Finlandia Hall since it is completely furnished with Aalto furniture. The low chair with no arm rests is also an unlikely choice for any public interior, so everything in the description seems to be wrong. 91.157.113.35 11:06, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- So. I had the opportunity to have a guided tour of Finlandia Talo back in 2019, while working in Finland's Presidency of the Council of the EU. We were told, just as you said, that all furniture was designed by Alvar Aalto, so I took that for granted. The model might be a different one, and if it is so then I absolutely support renaming the file. But the picture was taken in Finlandia Hall, and you can find other examples of these chairs in wider pictures, such as here, simply by searching for "yellow chair Finlandia Hall". So, to summarize: I'm not a furniture expert, and if you say it's not an Alvar Aalto chair, then let's ask an admin to rename the file and change the categories. If anything, it will be a decent picture of an Imola chair, which I don't seem to find on Wikimedia Commons. I don't really see why it should be deleted, a (possibly) wrong caption doesn't mandate deletion.
- Thank you for your prompt reply. It's been almost 20 years since the last time I visited the building, but I am now convinced, yet surprised, that these chairs have been selected for its previously all-Aalto interior. (Luckily, a large-scale renovation is starting in the building so we might get rid of those Imola chairs...) I now agree that the file should be renamed and recategorised and not deleted. 91.157.113.35 17:50, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
- I can only reply on (European) evenings unfortunately but yeah, thanks for the cooperation. It might be that they added this furniture specifically for the Presidency, since Finlandia Hall was expected to host many meetings and so on, they might have felt that more chairs were needed? Anyway, I'm not familiar with the procedures, but how do we remove the deletion request and request a renaming?--WanderingTrad (talk) 18:19, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
- I made a request to rename the file as "Imola chair.jpg" (in wikitalk, a ”move” request) but I don't know how to stop this deletion request procedure. Kotivalo (talk) 19:48, 14 October 2021 (UTC)
- Great thanks. According to the Deletion Requests page, "requests can be closed by an administrator after seven days" so I guess we'll just have to wait. --WanderingTrad (talk) 13:59, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

- Kept - No need to wait a week. A file that needs a rename should not be nominated for that reason.. - Richardkiwi (talk) (talk) 19:33, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
