It's been suggested in the discussion that the image could and/or should be cropped to alleviate your concerns. To reiterate my comments - the use of this image of an actor in the movie on the red carpet for the movie premiere is authorized and it is one of many that Warner Bros. has cleared for use from that public event. The question is raised: "Is Warner Brothers aware that someone could photoshop that image and probably come up with a working copy of the poster or atleast the image of Superman?" We can be confident they are that tech-aware. As well images of the full poster for the movie are available in numerous places online and available to the would-be Photoshopper or violator. Practically, it's not clear why any such party would attempt to alter an image of a different subject, one that includes obstructed viewing of an image that is easily available in fully unobstructed form. In short, you can be sure there are different concerns for WB than this specific image. Whether or not it fits your criteria for use - cropped or uncropped - you'll know best. - Comment & Duplicate. See http://allisoncrowe.com (image list under BY-SA) license, Allison Crowe's official page. Additionally, has received permission in OTRS with ticket number otrs:2013082010003232. --Alan (talk) 19:41, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- Unless the permission is from Warner Brothers themselves, and it includes rights to make derivatives of the Man of Steel poster and use them commercially, the permission isn't sufficient. See the other DR in regard to cropping, etc. This image is also a duplicate. INeverCry 19:44, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- For poster is perfectly applicable COM:DM imho. But yes, this image is duplicate.--Alan (talk) 19:47, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- The poster takes up about 1/3 of the image, so not DM. Also a crop of Superman's face could be made at relatively high res. INeverCry 19:51, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

When the red carpet image was posted it was not a duplicate, as the original version had been deleted by the user Diannaa http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fi%C8%99ier:ManofSteelFinalPoster.jpg is the page on which our image was removed by Delicious carbuncle. I am unclear on why the image of Allison Crowe at the red carpet premiere could cause concern, whereas the image of the poster itself, unobstructed, does not. Since the image of the red carpet event appeared on the same Wikipedia page as the full poster image it surely cannot have escaped notice of Delicious carbuncle et al. Hoping to understand better, thanks Rimbaud22ca (talk) 20:37, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
p.s. user Skeezix1000 has, helpfully, explained the situation with Wikipedia's sister sites and answered my question re differences between concerns. Rimbaud22ca (talk) 21:22, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
