Commons:Deletion requests/File:Albrecht Dezso 1943.jpg
With unknown author it's not possible to apply this license which is based on years since author's death. Ellin Beltz (talk) 19:14, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- You should help fixing the license instead of requesting deletion, especially when you do know that the image is PD. grin ✎ 16:28, 24 March 2022 (UTC)
- On the basis of the description that this photo originated in Romania and based on Template:PD-RO-photo, I understand that this photo would, under Romanian copyright law, be in the public domain and have amended the licenses accordingly. If the origin is proven or strongly suspected to be from outside of Romania, the status would need reviewing. Bungle (talk • contribs) 07:58, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
Deleted: per the precautionary principle. There is not enough information to be able to determine the copyright status. The source is said to be unknown by the uploader (strange, the uploader should know it), so I'm not entirely convinced that even the 1943 date is correct. The photo could have been taken in Romania or Hungary (the man was a member of the Hungarian parliament starting in 1940) or even in France if 1943 is not correct and it is more like 1947 or later; the photo could have been published at some point or not, and the author could be truly anonymous (in a legal sense), or this could be just another case of "I don't know and can't be bothered to try to find out".
Dezső lived until 1976. While the photo is probably not from 1976, it's the one solidly evidenced year I really have, so the file can be restored in 2097 with {{PD-old-assumed}}. Unless someone can come up with some solid evidence for an earlier year of creation of this photograph. --Rosenzweig τ 12:48, 21 August 2022 (UTC)
