Commons:Deletion requests/File:Abok 812, 587.png
This image is a two-dimensional screenshot of a three-dimensional model that is licensed under the CGTrader Royalty Free License. However, that license (see section 21 of this page) has restrictions on commercial re-use, such as that it may not be used to create visual content, such as scenes, videos, or designs, which are published or sold through other stock media clearinghouses unless it meets Incorporated Product criteria and it does not play a key role in the visual content (emphasis mine). The license also does not appear to allow re-use by third parties (Absent a written grant of rights greater than that contained in section 21 “Royalty Free License”, all other rights or sub-divisions of rights generally included in copyright are excluded from this license and remain the property of Seller, and the right to use the model is only granted to the buyer provided that certain restrictions are abided by.). Due to the (limited) commercial restrictions and the (wholesale) non-granting of relicensing rights for people who are not themselves the buyer of the model, this looks to be a two-dmensional derivative work of a three-dimensional work not available under a free license, and should be deleted as such. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 14:49, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- I will separately note Commons:Deletion requests/Template:PD-knot, where Commons decided to delete {{PD-knot}} on the basis that visual representations of knots can be copyrightable. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 14:50, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- As for why this pre-dates publication on Commons; it is a part of this knot bundle (see bottom left of 8th image) that was published online in 2019 by the same user who uploaded the specific model, while the representation on Commons was uploaded in 2020. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 14:54, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
- When media uploads in commons thera "Release rights" tab where i release this "Derivative work" from “Royalty Free License” by check: This file is my own work.(explicitly authorize the copy). Thus makes media "public domain" i gues cgtrader 21.5 grants me to do that, cus "all other rights remain the property of Seller" includes: set derivative works of my product in any licence i think. thanks. - I withdraw my nomination I had not put the link on your userpage together with the artstation/hasp watermark on the rendering. You do retain the rights to license under CC-BY-SA. My sincerest apologies. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 20:10, 20 March 2023 (UTC)
Kept: nomination was withdrawn. --Rosenzweig τ 07:12, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
