I am the creator and uploader of this photograph and I have created a new, completely different, and overall better quality (different perspective + higher resolution + improved lighting + different subject) photo to replace replace this one. CartleR255 (talk) 16:03, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- Keep @CartleR255: Why not upload the "new, completely different, and overall better quality (different perspective + higher resolution + improved lighting + different subject) photo" with a new name, and leave this one as is? — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 18:29, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: I think APL container truck.jpg should be deleted for two reasons:
- The new, completely different photo I intend to upload serves the same purpose as APL container truck.jpg [hereinafter 'unwanted existing photo'] I wish to delete, and thus it will supersede the unwanted existing photo's role in the Wikipedia article it is currently used in. This will render the unwanted existing photo I wish to delete to be obsolete, useless, and orphaned for Wikipedia.
- I am currently writing another Wikipedia article about a topic where the unwanted existing photo could be used relevantly, but I intend to upload another new, similar, and better quality image which will also take the unwanted existing photo's place. In this circumstance, although the new photo I am going to upload is superficially similar to and serves the same purpose as the unwanted existing photo I wish to delete, the new photo is not a modification nor is it an adaptation of the unwanted existing photo, thus it cannot be considered a new version.
- And so, for these aforementioned reasons, I see that there is no relevance or significance for the unwanted existing photo in Wikipedia and it will become orphaned and obsolete. Additionally, if you or someone else would like that I upload the new photos that will replace the unwanted existing photo before the unwanted existing photo is removed, I can do that. -- CartleR255 (talk) 21:58, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- I would certainly like to see the intended replacements before this request expires. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 21:25, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: I am ready to upload the new replacement photos to Wikimedia Commons; but before I proceed to do that, I would like to know: what will be the fate of APL container truck.jpg? -- CartleR255 (talk) 21:58, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @CartleR255: That will probably be decided about a week after DR creation. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 22:11, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: Apologies, but could you please explain what is 'DR creation'? -- CartleR255 (talk) 22:15, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @CartleR255: The creation of a Deletion Request page, in this case 16:03, 14 January 2018 (UTC). — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 22:23, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: Thank you for clarifying. Based on your experience, can you predict how likely or unlikely it is that APL container truck.jpg will be deleted? If it is unlikely, I may not upload the new replacement photos. --CartleR255 (talk) 22:28, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @CartleR255: I could change my !vote if I thought the replacements were better, but I won't without seeing them. What are you waiting for? — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 22:45, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: The following photo is the replacement for APL container truck.jpg It is higher resolution, better lighted, and serves the same purpose as APL container truck.jpg. I have already replaced the two photos so now APL container truck.jpg is orphaned. Hopefully this is satisfactory? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CartleR255 (talk • contribs) 03:27, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

- I withdraw my nomination@Jeff G.: I have decided to keep APL container truck.jpg. I have reached the conclusion that there is will be no significant benefit to delete and replace this photo. Apologies for the confusion and inconvenience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CartleR255 (talk • contribs) 03:27, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
- @CartleR255: Thank you. More appropriate templates to accompany your text would be {{Withdrawn}} and {{Vk}}. There seems to be some hardware missing from the chassis in File:APLcontainer.jpg that would attach it to the truck, what do you think? — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 15:01, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
- @Jeff G.: Yes, a highway tractor to pull the container/chassis unit is missing from APLcontainer.jpg. Additionally, when will the DR for APL container truck.jpg be closed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CartleR255 (talk • contribs) 15:42, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

- Signing your posts on talk pages is required and it is a Commons guideline to sign your posts on deletion requests, undeletion requests, and noticeboards. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and a timestamp will then automatically be added when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). Thank you. — Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me 02:26, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
