Conditions for physical and digital reproductions - For digital reproductions, conditions 3 and 4 must be met and at least one of 5b) to 5c).

  • Condition 3. Reproductions may not appear in an offensive or inappropriate context or in such a manner that we, in our sole opinion, believe would undermine the integrity of the currency.
  • Condition 4. There should be no distortion to the Queen’s image (apart from an enlargement, reduction or slant).
  • Condition 5b. Reproductions showing more than 50% of the total surface area of one side must be overprinted with the word ‘SPECIMEN’ unless the note is on a slant of more than 20 degrees.
  • Condition 5c. Reproductions showing less than 50% of the total surface area of one side do not need to be slanted or overprinted with the word ‘SPECIMEN’.

I believe all these conditions are met accodingly.

  • Condition 3. It is not in an offensive or inappropriate context
  • Condition 4. There is no distortion to the Queen’s image (apart a slant)
  • Condition 5b. In my opinion the image does not show more than 50% of the total surface area.
  • Condition 5c. I don't believe that the image shows more than 50% of the total surface area, so no need to be overprinted with the word ‘SPECIMEN’.SethWhales talk 16:53, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Seth Whales:  Comment I've talked about copyright on UK banknotes that have changed in the past. (See also: Commons:Village pump/Copyright/Archive/2021/04#It looks like currency of UK copyright policy has changed.) As a result, I have come to the conclusion that they are still not allowed. Also, apparently it shows more than 50% of the area, and 'SPECIMEN' is not marked. (Note the fold line in the middle of the banknote.) Ox1997cow (talk) 18:15, 24 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ox1997cow: have a look at ebay image of a £10 note. It's not possible to see anything below the Queen's nose (Approx 0.333333 of the note). Then there is nothing to the left of "B" in Bank of England (Approx 0.33333 of 0.66666 = 0.2222. Add the two together you get my crude calculation of 0.55555 = 55%. So 55% of the note is not shown, and I would say it is actually closer to 60% or more when you look at the ebay image and comparing it to the Commons image.  Delete Per COM:CUR UK. Note that the conditions imposed by the mint by law are not relevant to determining whether the notes are non-free.  Mysterymanblue  05:45, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination and remark of Mysterymanblue. If someone can blur the banknote the image can be temporarily undeleted. --Ellywa (talk) 21:51, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
