I'd like to nominate user Lar for admin on Commons. Cary "Bastiq▼e" Bass demandez 21:12, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Candidate statement
I am Larry Pieniazek. I have had an account on Commons since 6 February 2006, and have been an adminstrator on the English Wikipedia since 8 May 2006. My RfA there. My record on en:wp: Lar (talk • contribs • blocks • protects • deletions • moves)
I think my experience with many communities over the last 25 years, and on en:wp specifically, will stand me in good stead here. I really like it here at Commons... the project, the goals, and the people who hang here. One of the things that really attracts me to Commons is that there is lots to do and less bureaucracy to get in the way of getting it done. I'm interested in process and in working with templates, and in generally just helping out, and I am also interested in fostering interproject cooperation. I've committed to getting commons-ticker running on en:wp once the db lag issue is resolved. I'm maybe a bit verbose at it, but I like writing instructions and help texts too. My most major contribution so far other than images has been to do a number of the talk page templates that were needed as outlined at Commons:Message templates. ++Lar: t/c 21:22, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

- Support with a comment. You may want to tone down the language a little, I know you don't mean it seriously, but a user who isn't a native English speaker may not realise that.--Nilfanion 22:43, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- Good point, thanks for the tip. It's easy to forget that this is a very multilingual project. But I blame Bastique for vandalising my sandbox page while I was in the middle of testing something! :) ++Lar: t/c 01:07, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

- Oppose:
- Oppose Keine erkennbaren Kenntnisse in Urheberrechtsfragen. Seine englische Administratorenschaft spricht daher auch dagegen. Tut mir leid. --Steschke 16:21, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- 1) Lar had very little opposition at enwiki, so you can't mean his adminship RFA there. 2) If you are voting against him by virtue of his being a sysop at enwiki, then I seriously question your judgement. 3) I don't know where you're getting your information from about his level of expertise, but regardless, copyright knowledge is *not* a requirement for adminship at Commons. Copyright knowledge requires that you be able to mark a copyright violation for deletion; not that you be the one to delete it. Cary "Bastiq▼e" Bass demandez 18:12, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
--Steschke 07:03, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
