User talk:Pratheepps~commonswiki
Hi Pratheepps, and welcome to the Commons!
I just corrected your image nomination at Featured_picture_candidates. You may want to go there and vote for your picture. Please make sure to use this template for future nominations.
Providing a link to your personal homepage is not a problem at all. Basically, you can put hyperlinks to anything, especially on your User site. Maybe you should have a short look at the Help sites, which give some useful hints for beginners.
BTW: I would like to redesign the Flag of India picture. Can you help me with some information on the discussion page? That would be great. --Pumbaa 11:27, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for the help. Link to a the flag code site is [1]. Could it be of some help??Pratheepps 13:52, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
- As you can see, I moved your answer. It makes more sense in this place ;-)
- Thanks for the link. I read the Flag Code, but I can't find anything on the size of the Ashoka Chakra. It seems it isn't limited at all? --Pumbaa 09:17, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Just to alert you to the speedy deletion notice on the image you uploaded. No copyrighted material (even fair use) is allowed on Commons, to my knowledge. However, if it is fair use you could upload it to Wikipedia directly. It's certainly a good picture. 213.114.99.154 15:34, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
Wiki Pakistan
[edit]Hi. I am sorry to tell you that according to the wikimedia:Wikimedia visual identity guidelines, your derivation of the Wikimedia logo cannot unfortunately stay on Commons. It can also not be put under the GFDL, since the logo you derived it from is copyrighted by the Wikimedia Foundation. I am therefore deleting it, I am keeping a copy on my machine, do not hesitate to ask me for it. Thank you! notafish }<';> 21:41, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and or licensing of this particular file. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you.--- OK. Licence added. Thanks for the hint.Pratheepps
Do you know which species this deer is, or at least where the picture was taken? We might be able to make more use of the image if we knew what species it was. And, so long as it is not a zoo, the location might let us identify the species. GRBerry 19:53, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
POTY 2006 competition
[edit]The arrangements for the Commons Picture of the Year 2006 competition are almost complete, and voting will take place between 1st and 28th Feb. All the featured pictures promoted last year are automatically nominated. As the creator of one or more images nominated for the election we invite you to participate in the event. Your user template was moved from the Commons template namespace to your user namespace. You can transclude it to file descriptions with {{User:Pratheepps/Pra}}. Uses have been fixed. Additionally the template does not replace one of our generic license tags. You can use your template as an additional but not as the sole license tag. Thanks, --Martin H. Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Pratheepps. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Pratheepps~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
