"Same reason as Kazan."
[edit]You undid an edit here without giving that reason, so please indulge me and explain. As far as I can see, this banner is not a recognized historical flag of a country. It seems you created it from a description in the books source you cite, which fully qualifies for the "fictional flags of historical entities" category. --Enyavar (talk) 08:02, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- The work Banners of Islam is to my knowledge a reliable source on the topic. I used the description since this is what the book used, with the accompanying illustration using the phrase "Banner of the Khanate of Kazan (15th century)". This book is certainly not easily accessible (I could only find it in a local archive) but I have no reason to doubt it's reliability.
- In any case, this criticism can only apply to the Banner of Kazan. Two editors in related wikiprojects agree use of the Timruid Banner in some capacity on wikipedia pages is good for understanding the Timurid Empire, so it's unclear why you changed this banner as well to fictional HetmanTheResearcher (talk) 16:29, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
