Images categorized when I uploaded them

Hello - I recently uploaded about 2 dozen files via the wizard. I applied categories, usually "Medal of Honor - Navy" and "US Navy Bases" in the process. This morning the BOT says they didn't take. Where is my error, please? Thank you. JMOprof (talk) 13:08, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

A possible explanation is, as I experienced myself, is that you entered the desired category; seeing that it exists you clicked on the button upload without first clicking on OK for confirming the category. Wouter (talk) 10:35, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

"Village pump"

1. User:Parent Géry uploaded some images, there is still possible that some are uncategorized (red link). Is the CategorizationBot able to check his uploads? Thx --Chris.urs-o (talk) 16:27, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
2. Category:Images from Europeana to be categorized: don't know how to get the images out of this category, some are already categorized.

4. The pictures by celular with less than 15 kB aren't important.
5. It might be nice to have the pictures sorted in mirror categories, sorted by size (big ones first).
   1. The users of old files that were only active more or less the first ten days.
   2. JPEGs have priority if they have more than 100 kB (TIFF ones with the same pixel size)
   3. Uncategorized files for more than 1.5 years have priority.

strange behaviour of un/categorized template

As of today I found a lot of images, that hadn't been edited for weeks, in the cat for "Other speedy deletions", which hadn't been in there yesterday. Their common characteristics were the display of a red link "Template:Categorized" (see File:Titelseite Die gute alte Zeit.jpg) and the fact that the template {{Uncategorized}} had been changed to {{Categorized}} some time ago[1]. However, that fact that all these files suddenly popped up in a speedy-cat means that the central template code had been changed by somebody. --Túrelio (talk) 06:48, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

I'm not sure why you're reporting it here but this edit caused all the images using {{Categorized}} to end up in a speedy deletion category. Multichill (talk) 22:14, 9 August 2011 (UTC)

hello,

I'm sorry that i have to bother you cus im a new user, i just need to edit our page ( circassian heritage center ) in hebrew language and further i have uploaded some images. do i must category al that image?...cus its relate to only the circassian from israel ( 4000 people ) . in any way it was hard to find someone to help me to category all the images that i upolad. i realy don't want to bother but in case that im not yet know how to category them...what wil happen?..will my photo's stay saved of they will be delete..and hope that they will not.Beco1977 (talk)

How about Category:The Circassian Heritage Center in Kfar-Kama and Category:Circassian heritage center gets Category:Israel? You are not able to find media without category, it is simple as that. I see that it is solved ;) --Chris.urs-o (talk) 08:20, 13 August 2011 (UTC)

help with uploading files

Hi, I am trying to upload few logos as being a part of WIKI Project Companies. I have used Wizard and made few mistakes and cant fix it now. File:Seaga.jpg I want to use Non-free media use rationale - non-free logo. Please help me. Thanks

And how can i do it right next time without using wizard? specifically for companies logos?

Pour catégoriser mes images...

Bonjour,

je ne demande que ça. Mais autant avec l'assistant de téléversement c'est facile quand on télécharge, autant une fois l'image dans Commons, je ne trouve plus de fenêtre pour ajouter des catégories. C'est où, s'il te plaît ?
