Hidden characters

As being discussed at Commons:Village_pump/Technical#Hidden_chars_in_title (in case of archive), Category:Gulfstream aircraft facing left goes into these hidden characters and Category:General Dynamics aircraft facing left goes to this mess rather than Category:⁨󠀁󠁥󠁮GD󠁿⁩ aircraft by orientation which is also not Category:General Dynamics aircraft. I think these are coming from Wikidata but is there a code issue here causing the extra characters? Ricky81682 (talk) 22:28, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

This problem needs to be fixed by someone who knows how to fix it. I have encountered the same difficulty with Category:Fairchild aircraft facing right. Bahnfrend (talk) 12:34, 2 March 2023 (UTC)

The problem still needs to be fixed. I can't fix it, because I can't figure it out. See, eg, Category:Mil helicopters by orientation, which, if you click on the auto red-linked "Category:Mil helicopters" (which already exists) tries unsuccessfully to create it again at [1], and, if you click on the similarly auto red-linked "Category:Mil aircraft by orientation" (which similarly already exists) tries unsuccessfully to create it again at [2].
