| Description | Yikes! I never realized that Shinkansen trains have horns that loud! I am at Hiroshima station- that's my ride to Osaka arriving, delayed by a few minutes. Many stations on the Shinkansen network in Japan have half barriers which obscure the view. Here in Hiroshima, there were intermittent gaps. I was standing near one of these gaps looking into the viewfinder of my Nikon. The driver probably thought I was too close and nearly had me jump out of my skin when he sounded the loud ‘Praaaaaaaam’ blast of the horn, which sounded even louder within the confines of the train station! It took me a few seconds to crawl back into my skin after that! The train seen here is a N700 series of Shinkansen, notes about which appeared earlier in this album (see previous pictures) and also in my Kyoto album. (Hiroshima,Japan, Apr/ May 2019) |
