| Description | GGI used to have a dock where the Sunbeam Fleet's fishing boats could tie up and offload. Then it washed away in a storm two years ago. AMNH is working on arrangements to have it replaced. Until then, though, the fishing boat has to tow a rowboat. When the fishing boat is as close to GGI as is safe, it drops anchor and draws the work boat up to the side, and all island-bound people and objects must make a hop from big boat to little; how big a deal this is depends on how calm the waters are. The rowboat then makes a landing on the rocky beach of the island. |
