Description

Illustration issue de l'article "Notice sur le Val-Ombrosa en Toscane", A. L. Castellan, Annales des Voyages, de la géographie et de l'histoire, Paris, F. Buisson, 1808, tome 2, p. 332-356.

Dans les montagnes de l'Appenin en Toscane (non loin de Pratolino évoqué dans le tome 6 des Annales des Voyages) l'abbaye, un couvent se cache au cœur d'une forêt de sapins. Lors d'un pèlerinage, l'artiste Antoine-Laurent Castellan retrace l'histoire et le fonctionnement de cet "asile de la tranquillité" et des arts.

Ouvrage appartenant à la Bibliothèque historique du ministère de l'Agriculture, déposée à la MRSH Caen.
