Vihara is a residential place of Buddhist Monks with its own architectural features. The word vihara, Arama, and Sangharama are used alternatively. The monastery could accommodate 100 monastics along with food, water, clothing and medicines to store ThotlaKonda is a buddhist archilogical site belonging to 3 BCE to 3CE. This Theravada (Hinayana Buddhism) complex, including 16 votive stupas, 11 rock-cut cisterns, stoned pathways, circular chaitya-grihas, votive platforms, viharas, a mahastupa, a dining hall and a kitchen complex with three halls.
